What's inside

A full accounting system, not a spreadsheet.

Books keeps a true general ledger under the hood, so your invoices, bills, bank feeds and reports always reconcile to the same set of numbers.

Double-entry ledger

A proper chart of accounts with debits and credits that always balance — the honest foundation every report is built on.

General ledger · journals

Invoices & bills

Send quotes and invoices, track what customers owe you and what you owe suppliers, and watch each one flow into the ledger automatically.

Receivables · payables

Banking & reconciliation

Import statements, match transactions to invoices and bills, and reconcile each account to the cent — so the books mirror reality.

Statement import · matching

Financial statements

Profit & loss, balance sheet and cash-flow statements generated straight from the ledger, ready the moment your accountant or bank asks.

P&L · balance · cash flow

Items & inventory

Track products and services, quantities on hand and cost of goods — so margins on every sale are a fact, not a guess.

Stock · COGS

Contacts

One record for every customer and vendor — their balance, their history and their open documents, all in one place.

Customers · vendors

Generic tax handling

Define your own tax rates and rules — VAT, GST, sales tax or none — instead of a system hard-wired to one country's regime.

Not country-locked

REST API

A proper HTTP API over your whole ledger — push invoices from your store, pull reports into a dashboard, automate the busywork.

Tokens · webhooks
How it works

From your books to the statements that matter.

Every invoice, bill and bank line becomes a balanced journal entry in the general ledger. From that single source of truth, Books renders your profit & loss, balance sheet and cash-flow statement on demand.

One ledger, one truth — every report ties back to a balanced set of journal entries.

Why Books

Global by default, sovereign by design.

Built for a business anywhere

Multi-currency with live exchange rates, generic tax handling you define yourself, and an internationally-neutral chart of accounts. Books doesn't assume you file in one particular country — it's the global companion to our Spain-specific accounting.

Your data, your jurisdiction

Books runs as your own private instance on Kawkav-owned hardware, under your own subdomain. Pick your region, export the full ledger whenever you want, and answer to no third-party clause about “using your data to improve our product.” The core is open source, so your books are never held hostage.

Honest note

Arabic UI is coming soon.

Today: English & multi-currency

Right now the Kawkav Books interface ships in English, with full multi-currency accounting worldwide. If you need an Arabic-first, RTL finance tool today, take a look at Kawkav Ledger instead — its Arabic interface is already shipped.

On the way: Arabic, upstream

We're contributing the Arabic and RTL locale to Bigcapital upstream, so it lands for the whole open-source community, not just Kawkav. We'll say the moment it's generally available — no vapourware promises in the meantime.

Pick the accounting that fits where you file.

Two accounting engines, one Kawkav login. The difference is jurisdiction.

Choose Kawkav Books

You operate across borders or outside Spain, invoice in several currencies, and want internationally-neutral double-entry accounting with a REST API. Books is the global, Xero-class choice.

Choose Kawkav Business

You file in Spain and need Veri*factu-ready invoicing built on FacturaScripts, tied into ERP, CRM and the rest of the back-office suite. That's the Spain-specific path — see Kawkav Business.

Questions

The honest answers.

What is Kawkav Books built on?

Bigcapital, an open-source (AGPL) double-entry accounting platform. We run a dedicated instance for you on Kawkav's own infrastructure, keep it updated, and put your data under your subdomain and your jurisdiction — no shared multi-tenant database with strangers.

Is the interface available in Arabic?

Not yet. The Books interface currently ships in English with full multi-currency support. We're contributing an Arabic and RTL locale to Bigcapital upstream and it's coming soon. If you need an Arabic-first finance tool today, Kawkav Ledger already has a shipped Arabic/RTL interface.

How is this different from Kawkav Business?

Kawkav Business (conta) is Spain-specific — FacturaScripts, Veri*factu-ready invoicing and the ERP/CRM suite for filing in Spain. Books is the internationally-neutral companion: multi-currency, generic tax rules, no country lock-in. Same Kawkav login, different jurisdiction fit.

Can I get my data out?

Always. Export your ledger, invoices and reports in standard formats at any time, and use the REST API on the Pro plan to pull everything programmatically. Because the core is open source, there's no proprietary lock-in on your books.

Do you resell someone else's cloud underneath?

No. Books runs on Kawkav-owned hardware. You choose the region at setup, your data stays under that jurisdiction, and we never resell hyperscaler capacity beneath it.
