Comms · unified communications

Your organization's conversations, encrypted and sovereign.

Kawkav Matrix is a unified communications platform — end-to-end encrypted messaging, voice and video — running on Kawkav's own Matrix server in Madrid. Your team works from Element apps on web, desktop and mobile, signing in with their Kawkav account. Your data lives only on our infrastructure; federation is optional and Enterprise-only.

Rooms that can be end-to-end encrypted
App platforms: web, desktop, mobile
Jurisdiction for your data: Madrid, EU
Third-party clouds holding your chats
What you get

A complete comms platform you actually own.

Not another tenant in someone else's cloud: a real Matrix homeserver, run for your organization, on Kawkav-owned metal.

End-to-end encryption

Rooms and calls are encrypted on the client — not even Kawkav can read them. Keys stay on your devices.

Voice & video built in

Voice and video calls inside every room — one-to-one and group — from the same apps, with no extra service to buy.

Element apps everywhere

Mature Element clients for web, desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile (iOS, Android). Your team already knows how to use a chat app.

SSO with your Kawkav account

One login for the whole platform: staff sign into Matrix with the same Kawkav account they use for the console.

Data on Kawkav metal, in Madrid

Your homeserver runs on Kawkav-owned infrastructure in Madrid. No third-party cloud holds your organization's conversations.

Federation: optional, Enterprise

By default your server is a private island. Enterprise plans can open controlled federation with partners running their own Matrix servers.

Architecture

Your apps, your server, your rules.

Element clients talk TLS to your own Synapse homeserver in Kawkav's Madrid facility. Federation to other servers is a deliberate, controlled choice on Enterprise.

EU jurisdiction

Contracts, DPA and data residence in the EU — a clean answer when auditors ask where the chat lives.

Questions

The honest answers.

How is this different from Slack or Microsoft Teams?

Two things: sovereignty and encryption. Your Matrix homeserver runs on Kawkav's own infrastructure in Madrid, so your organization's conversations are not sitting in a hyperscaler's cloud under a foreign jurisdiction. And end-to-end encryption happens on the client, so the platform operator cannot read your content in transit or at rest. You keep the convenience of channels, direct messages and calls — you change who holds the data.

Can we migrate from Slack or Teams?

Yes. We help you export your workspace's public history and user list, recreate the channel structure as Matrix rooms and spaces, and onboard your team. Private-message history generally cannot be ported; most organizations keep the old workspace read-only for a transition period.

Which apps do people use?

Element — on the web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. It is a mature, open-source Matrix client with chat, file sharing, search, voice and video. Other Matrix clients work too; Element is what we ship and support.

Is this a phone system (PBX)?

No. Kawkav Matrix is collaboration — messaging, voice and video calls inside your organization. It does not give you PSTN phone numbers or a switchboard; that is a different Kawkav product (Cloud PBX / Voice). Many organizations run both.

What is federation, and do we need it?

Federation lets Matrix servers talk to each other, like email. If your partners run their own Matrix servers, Enterprise plans can open controlled federation with exactly those servers. If you do not need it, your homeserver stays a private island — that is the default.
