Special Projects · bespoke sovereign builds

Sovereign platforms, built to last.

For governments, foundations and enterprises that need to own — not rent — the platform their mission runs on. Kawkav designs, builds and operates custom sovereign systems end to end: bespoke platforms, data-sovereignty migrations, private AI deployments, and turnkey social and media platforms. One accountable engineering team, from the first conversation to live operation.

Why Kawkav

One partner for the whole digital spine.

Most ambitious projects fail at the seams between vendors. Kawkav owns those seams — a single accountable team designing, building and running the entire platform, on infrastructure you control.

Sovereign by default

Compute, data and identity stay under your jurisdiction and your control. The stack is open-source-first and portable, so you own the substrate your mission runs on — never a landlord's tenant.

One accountable team

From blueprint to live operation, one engineering team owns every layer and every seam. You negotiate and escalate with a single partner, not twelve vendors pointing at each other.

A network, not a bottleneck

Behind our core team sits a curated bench of partner studios and specialists. We staff up to your scale and locality without ever losing a single point of accountability.

How we engage

From a first conversation to live operation.

A consultative engagement, staged so you commit at the depth the project needs — and own the result at every step.

What we build

Four ways we take on a mission.

Whether you're starting from a blank page or migrating off a foreign cloud, the engagement is bespoke — scoped to your governance, your users and your jurisdiction.

Custom platforms

Bespoke web and mobile platforms designed around your mission and governance — not squeezed into someone else's template.

Data-sovereignty migrations

Move off foreign clouds and onto infrastructure under your control — data, identity and workloads relocated without downtime or loss.

Private AI deployments

Your own models, agents and inference on sovereign GPUs. Prompts, documents and outputs never leave your tenant or your jurisdiction.

Turnkey social & media

Ready-to-run sovereign social networks and newsrooms — self-hosted, with identity, moderation and delivery you own outright.

Selected work

Platforms we designed, built and stood up.

A sample of sovereign builds delivered end to end. Described generically to respect our clients — the capability is the point, not the name.

Sovereign Social

A self-sovereign social super-app for a youth foundation — feeds, hubs, messaging and federated identity for a community of some 30,000 members, RTL-first and fully self-hosted. Result: a 30k-strong network running entirely on infrastructure the foundation owns.

Knowledge Platform

A Qur'an knowledge social platform — verse-by-verse resources, reciter libraries, a contribution economy with curator review and reputation, localised across nine languages. Result: thousands of verified resources, governed and grown by the community itself.

Independent Newsroom

A revived independent newsroom — a self-hosted, multilingual daily rebuilt on sovereign delivery, publishing thousands of articles with its own editorial pipeline and audio narration. Result: a full archive back online and a desk publishing every day.

Heritage Archive

A resurrected Spanish-Muslim heritage portal — thousands of articles, documents and audio rescued from oblivion and republished as a trilingual living archive. Result: a lost cultural portal restored, searchable, and growing again.

Depth of engagement

Consult to scope. Build to deliver. Operate to keep it alive.

Discovery

The first conversation is a working session, not a sales call. Bring the brief, the constraints and the deadline; leave with an honest read on feasibility, a candidate sovereign architecture, a data-residency review and a phased plan with budgets.

Build

Design and delivery of the full scope — platform, integrations, migration and AI — on time and on price. We coordinate the partner network, supervise the work, and assign the bespoke code and deliverables to you on acceptance. You own what you pay for.

Operate or hand over

Long-horizon operation under one SLA — monitoring, sovereign hosting, updates and a dedicated account engineer — or a clean handover of code, data and documentation to your own team. Your platform never becomes hostage to ours.

Questions

The honest answers.

Who owns the code and data we pay for?

You do. Bespoke code, configurations, documentation and architectural artefacts are assigned to you on acceptance. Our open-source choices remain under their original licences, and every contract carries data-export rights.

Is this self-serve like the rest of Kawkav?

No. Special Projects is a consultative engagement, not a checkout. It starts with a working session where we scope honestly — including telling you when a project is beyond what we can lead well.

Where can you deliver, and under which jurisdiction?

Your jurisdiction is the default — sovereignty is the point. Our centre of gravity is the Mediterranean, with active field reach across the Global South, Africa, the Gulf and Latin America through the partner network.

Can you work alongside our existing vendors?

Yes. Most projects this size already have incumbents. We map the existing landscape first, integrate around it, and replace only what genuinely needs replacing — no forced rip-and-replace.

Can we take the whole platform in-house later?

Yes — that's the design goal. The stack is open-source-first and portable, so we can hand over code, data and operations to your team at any point. We support source-code escrow and milestone payments on larger engagements.

Start with a conversation

Tell us about the project. We'll tell you how we'd build it.

Bring the brief, the constraints and the deadline. The first session is a working one — you leave with an honest read on feasibility, a candidate sovereign architecture, and a sense of the team who'd deliver it.
